This past year, Hope’s Nest grassroots fundraising efforts have provided:

■ Transportation for Charmaney’s House of refuge,

■ Year-round art workshops with the Los Angeles
 Department of Recreation and Parks

■ Basic needs for Charmaney’s schoolchildren,
including backpacks, school supplies, and clothing
■ Weekly tutoring for students struggling with English,
 Science and Math
■ A Saturday Speakers’ Series addressing “What’s
Next?”— employment after high school or college
